The secret of longevity and youthful look among Japanese women is finally revealed!
Did you know that the world record for longevity is held by Japanese women? Their average lifespan is 84 years!
Not only do they live the longest, they always look way younger than their actual age.
Japanese writer, Naomi Moriyama, reveals the Japanese secret to this phenomenon in the book “Japanese women don’t get old or fat”. Here she explains that the traditional Japanese cuisine uses foods that prevent aging, health issues, and weight gain. The cuisine is mainly consisted of fruits, rice, fish, seaweed, vegetables, green tea, and soy.
It is also very important to notice that Japanese people regularly consume home cooked meals, which include soup, fruits, grilled fish, bowl of rice, cooked vegetables, and green tea. Another interesting fact is that they consume about 10% of all fish consumed around the world, and they account for only 2% of the world population.
Moriyama also states that Japanese children are taught this lifestyle from a very young age. Moreover, each food is separately served, and people are not allowed to eat huge portions or to fill up their bowls. The foods are cooked slowly, usually steamed or grilled.
Rice is always included as a side meal, which is actually a replacement for bread and this is one of the main differences between their and our eating habits.
According to Japanese, the breakfast is the essential daily meal, and it consists of numerous foods and drinks, like fish, omelet, soup, tofu, seaweed, steamed rice, young garlic, and green tea.
Japanese diet also lacks sugary foods, which if served, they are usually in small portions.
“Exercise is a part of the daily routine in Japan and in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, they built an entire culture of biking, walking and hiking.”
