The most popular British singer and crowd’s favorite, Adele, succeeded to lose weight with the help of her new diet. Close sources state that she managed to lose 30 pounds in only few months, thanks the book “The Sirtfood Diet” which came out in Britain this January.
Her longtime personal trainer, Pete Geracimo, supports this diet, while research has confirmed that it can really help regulate the metabolism.
The diet is developed by two certified nutritionists and health consultants, Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten, who’ve always focused on healthy eating rather than weight loss. Their diet is based on consuming foods rich in sirtuin activators.
Sirutin is a protein that prevents our cells from and it’s been also confirmed by research that they can help regulate your metabolism, increase muscle and burn fat.
Foods that contain this protein are kale, olive oil, dark chocolate, green tea, red wine, apples, red onions, parsley, onion, blueberries, etc. Meat is not on this list, but is still included in the diet as long as it doesn’t replace the “sirtfoods”.
You should keep in mind that this diet is quite restrictive. The first three days you are only allowed to intake 1000 calories while the next four days you’re allowed 1500 calories through two meals and two smoothies. This diet has been tested only on subject who exercised on a daily basis and all of them managed to lose an average of 6 pounds per week.
Goggins and Matten point out that the diet is not drastic diet for unhealthy and fast weight loss, but a healthy eating regimen everyone should adopt. Its main purpose is strengthening the immune system and the metabolism, and improving the overall health. The weight loss is only a bonus.
