Eight years later, the German scientist, physiologist and medical doctor Otto Heinrich Warburg won a Nobel Prize for his revolutionary breakthrough.
He discovered that the unhealthy lifestyle and the consumption of unhealthy food create an acidic environment in the body that takes off the oxygen from the cells, thus creating a perfect environment for cancers cells to be developed since these cells thrive in anaerobic environments. According to Dr. Warburg, if you remove 35% of the healthy cell’s oxygen, it will convert into cancer cell in only two days. A healthy organism is alkaline while a tumorous one is acidic.
Acidity and alkalinity are measured with a logarithmic scale called pH. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. A pH of 7 is neutral. A pH less than 7 is acidic while a pH greater than 7 is basic. In a healthy body, the pH values should be slightly above 7. The pH of the blood is always 7.4 and 7.45. To keep your pH level normal, you need a proper nutrition by consuming healthy food.
Here’s a list of foods and beverages that can cause an acidic environment in your body:
- Refined sugar and all its derivates,
- Products of animal origin (milk and cheese),
- Refined flour and all its derivates (cakes, pasta).
- Any cooked food
- Refined salt
- All industrial processed food such as cans, artificial colors, flavors, stabilizers and others.
To alkalize your body you should consume more fruits, vegetables and water. Also, a regular physical activity can help the body stay healthy and note that 60% of what you eat should be alkalizing foods while people who suffer from serious diseases should eat a diet consisting of 80% of alkaline foods and avoid processed and unhealthy food.
