These Leaves Are Stronger at Killing Cancer Cells Than Chemotherapy

There is a very good reason why graviola, or also known as soursop, is getting a lot of attention by scientists.

Namely, this plant holds anticancer properties that intrigues scientists and is the reason why there are so many studies conducted.

Graviola leaves are the source of the anticancer properties that are believed to be stronger than chemo, and more importantly they can do the job without causing any side-effects.

The plant is native to the Caribbean and South America and has a similar taste to pineapple and strawberries. Besides being tasty, it is also rich in vitamins and minerals. The leaves also have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and analgesic effects on the human organism.

It is also believed by many experts that the plant contains acetogenins, a type of anti-cancerous agents that are able to inhibit NADH oxidase of plasma membranes of abnormal cells and fight several types of cancer.

A study was conducted by group of scientists which was based on a few compounds that have been extracted from graviola leaves. These have been tested against HeLa and PC3 cell lines. The first were treated with 75 μg of a crude leaf extract of A. muricata where it was shown 80% of cell inhibition, while another similar research that studied the effect of this plant on pancreatic cancer, showed that the graviola extract can do what chemo couldn’t (because the cells from this type of cancer are resistant to chemotherapy). The extract has shown to prevent further growth of the cancer.

To prepare a graviola tea, you will need a quart of boiling water and 15 graviola leaves. Chop up the leaves and stems, and add them in the water. Turn the heat on low, and let it simmer until you notice that the liquid has reduced by half. The tea can be drunk either hot or cold, and for optimal results it is advisable to be consumed three times a day.

According to a study conducted by a team of researchers from the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Purdue University, graviola has strong anti-cancer properties, and a few important compounds found in this plant were the core of the study.

Although the study was costly and time consuming, it was discovered that these compounds are annonaceousacetogenins.

It was also shown that graviola and other similar plants to it have the ability to eliminate abnormal cancer cells and stop their growth without affecting the normal cells. What’s more exciting, graviola can affect those cancer cells that are resistant to conventional anti-cancer drugs.

Sadly, The Food and Drug Administration disregarded these facts by saying that the study was performed in vitro and the cells were collected in test tubes. Unfortunately, there is still no clinical study that would confirm these findings.
