Put These Bug-Repelling Mason Jars Outside and You Will Not See a Mosquito All Summer
Summer is time for fun, beaches, vacations, partying until morning, sunbathing, and everything is fun and games until mosquitoes come along and ruin everything. These insects are one of the most loathed, not only for being annoying, but also for transmitting many diseases like Malaria and Zika. That’s why many people desperately try to find a solution to keep them way for good.
Store-bought bug repellents are the first thing that comes to mind, but they are loaded with chemicals, among which is DEET, known for causing numerous health problems, skin irritations, allergies, and even nervous system interference.

DIY MOSQUITO REPELLENT MASON JARS
If you combine essential oils and citrus fruits, you will get an excellent mosquito repellent.
- 2 mason jars
- 10 drops of lemon eucalyptus essential oil
- 10 drops of citronella essential oil
- One lemon, sliced
- One lime, sliced
- 4 rosemary sprigs
Start by adding even amounts of lemon and lime slices to each jar and then put 2 sprigs of rosemary into each jar. Then, fill the jar with ¾ water and add 10 drops of the essential oils to a specific jar (don’t mix them). To activate them, just light a candle.
You can place the jars wherever you want: in backyards, porches, campfires, or any other outdoor area where you spend your summer nights.
