Not many people are aware that alkaline diet is much more healthier than acidic one.

But, the modern way of living these days, especially in the Westren world, doesn’t really allow us to pay much attention on what we eat. Everything we eat is fast-prepared, fried, microwaved, or processed. These types of foods are an especially great disadvantage to cancer patients.

First of all, what these people should do is completely eliminate sugar from their diet. This is due to the fact that cancer cells feed on glucose. Plus, sugar creates an acidic environment which is ideal for cancer progression. Consuming a lot of sugar will also create insulin resistance which is directly linked to cancer proliferation. Avoid high fructose corn syrup because it is high in mercury, a cancer promoting toxin. It is also advisable to avoid even natural sugar found in honey and agave.

Instead, to satisfy your need for sugar, have 2-3 figs or dried apricots, or a piece of fresh pineapple.

Eliminate gluten. This type of food cause inflammations, that further promote cancer progression. Avoid wheat, spelt or rye, including the whole grains, pastas, cereals, bread, muffins, cakes, crackers, cookies and other baked goods. Replace them with whole, non-gluten grains such as rice, buckwheat, quinoa, millet and amaranth. You should also beware of prepared “gluten free” products because they contain sugar or processed oils.

According to Prof. (Emeritus) T. Colin Campbell, PhD, Cornell University, cow diary is one of the most cancer promoting foods. This is due to the protein found in this food called casein. High protein yogurts made with added powdered milk or whey are even more cancer promoting than plain milk, yogurt or cheese. Nonetheless, you should exclude any type of dairy products when fighting cancer. Dairy products create inflammation, cause bone deterioration and promote cancer progression in a similar way as sugar.
