Back in the 1920s’ willing help the cause in fighting cancer, the Canadian nurse Rene Caisse came up with an idea to recreate an old tea recipe dating from the times of the Ojibwa tribe, called the “tea of life”. She treated patients with this tea for 50 years – no charge – and had support from many doctors and renowned scientists until she died in 1978. Rene had had many legal troubles for treating patients unlicensed and the only thing keeping her from jail was her – free of charge – offer. But, the will to save people lives was stronger as she continued offering the tea. Even though many doctors claim that the tea only has a placebo effect, thousands of people swear by the results they got from this Essiac tea recipe.

This incredible tea detoxifies the body, attacks cancer cells, and ramps up the immune system with powerful antioxidants and what’s more important it is completely safe for pregnant women and nursing mothers.

To prepare it you will need only 4 ingredients: 1 ½ pounds cut burdock root (Arctium lappa is a natural blood detoxifier), 1 pound powdered sheep sorrel (Rumex acetosella is a powerful antioxidant), ¼ pound powdered slippery elm (Ulmus fulva is a powerful antioxidant), 1 ounce powdered Turkish (Indian) rhubarb root (Rheum pamatum is a phytochemical that is naturally astringent, anti-microbial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory). Mix the herbs all together then store them in a tightly sealed glass container away from light. For a quart of tea you will need 1 ounce of herbal blend, for a gallon of tea you will need 4 ounces of herbal blend. Boil the desired amount of water for 15 minutes, and then put the herbs in the water. Keep it covered with a lid for at least 12 hours. The following day reheat it but do not boil it. After it’s settled strain out the herbs, pour into tightly sealed glass or ceramic containers and refrigerate and use as recommended (sweetened with honey or natural sugar to taste)

For general health consumption, drink ½ ounce of tea with 2 ounces of water once daily. It is advisable to drink it at bedtime on empty stomach. To fight disease, gradually increase consumption of Essiac tea to 1 ounce of tea in 2 ounces of water once daily. Caisse cautioned against drinking more in hopes of better or faster results and to increase water consumption.

The first and only goal is to save lives, and Rene’s patients live to tell the miraculous effects of this tea.
