Spending your day mostly by sitting and barely being physically active can lead to serious health conditions.
There is no excuse not to dedicate at least 15 minutes daily on doing some physical activity. A simple form of walking is the least you can do in order to maintain your health.
Researchers at the University Hospital of Saint-Etienne, the University Hospital of Dijon, the University of Lyon, the Regional Center for Cancer Prevention and Jean Monnet University in France, all of them confirmed the effectiveness of this exercise.
The British Journal of Sports Medicine published one of these studies which included participants older than 60.
All of them did 15 minutes exercises daily, which decreased their risk of death by 22%. This means that a 15-minute daily walk ‘will help you live longer’.
Even doctors strongly recommend doing at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity a week.
Taking a walk every day will help you in numerous ways, such as:
- It prevents diabetes
- Weight loss
- Increases the levels of vitamin D
- It relieves pain
- Helps the prevention of colon cancer, breast cancer, and lung cancer
- It supports heart health
- It enhances mood
Now, get off that chair and take a 15 minute walk around the neighborhood.
